Even  

     Oxen tow wagons 

loaded with shrouds 

     to the battlefield— 

     disinterment slows 

since few diggers 

     remain and even 

     those have wounds 

troubling them— 

     the Sultan allows 

     reburial    —even

the Sultan cannot 

     conquer the dead.
