     My father said to think

his family came from Baden

Baden: then a Bremen woman

told him it wasn't such a great

     place to be from as such.

          The Black Forest looms:

My father brought home

     a cuckoo clock from there

     and a pistol for his father.

My mother said his family 

          was Plattdeutsch:

So we're from Bremen instead?
