Romeo

Romeo

Such love exists as has power
to overcome death, yet Romeo
met death as like one who can't
endure the loss of one's beloved.

Never ceasing adoration though
the body wilts and buds bloom
no longer upon his Juliet's lips,
he clasps his own heart in hand

and doffs his hat along with his
brain drawn past orifices —ears,
mouth, nose, eyes all illumened,

still, with longing as though life
could claim him again in some
spirit he may believe to be hers.
