Prophet of Not 

Mama said i was negative 

     like my father. 

But i would tell her something 

and she would say, "Oh, you're 

     making that up!" 

Maybe she was accusing me 

     of fantasizing, 

or she was just astonished 

and the phrase was a gesture 

of not disbelief but surprise.
